About

Our History

Started in February of 2019 by 5 young ladies, Kendall County had it's first female Scouts BSA Troop, chartered by the Yorkville American Legion Post #489. What started as a small troop, nicknamed the "A-Team" for the first letter of their first names, the first patrol, the invisible avocados, was formed. Since then Troop 50 has and continues to grow.

Our Purpose

We aim to teach young people:

  • Character development

  • Citizenship training

  • Leadership

  • Mental and physical fitness

Why Scouts BSA?

Joining Scouts BSA is an excellent way for young people to get excited about the great outdoors. Scouting is where youth develop leadership skills, a passion for service, and experience personal growth while participating in fun adventures with other Scouts. Scouting encourages young people to try new things, serve others in their communities, and tackle any challenge they might face in their lives with full hearts and clear minds.
